The Hifi Club is proud to present: Djemba Djemba & GANZ
Tickets are available online and at Luke's Drug Mart, Grass Roots Kensington & Sloth Records
Djemba Djemba is music born from a state of permanent contradiction, held together by one underlying and adaptive principle: rhythm. Experimenting with polyrhythms, 90’s FM synths, and the all-important 808 Kick, Djemba Djemba crafts a sound that is both intelligent and brain numbing.
It’s easy to detect the influence of UK Bass music currently dominating clubs, yet at the same time feel altogether new, and in stride with the response taking place in New York, Chicago, Boston, and his home in Los Angeles.
With releases on Mad Decent, his own imprint Rabbit Records, and Beat Team Supreme, Djemba’s music has been supported by the likes of Diplo, The Gaslamp Killer, Rusko, Baauer, Obey City, Major Lazer, Paul Devro, and BBC Radio 1. With exciting collaborations in the works with some of the biggest names in EDM, and his finger on the pulse of the latest dance music via his co-club night The Melt, Djemba Djemba certainly has a few surprises on the horizon.”
GANZ: Despite being only 24, Dutchman Jordy Saämena has already achieved and accomplished many things. As a child he first became conscious of the wider musical world when listening to hip hop, old soul and garage and soon began drumming. It was a desire to create the full song, not just the bottom end, that turned Jordy onto production. Now, eight or so years later, he has switched with great skill and style between a number of different genres.
In 2012 the musician and producer began studying Electronic Music at The Conservatory in Haarlem and soon became infatuated with bass. This is no surprise given Jordy’s Moluccan heritage, a culture that is known for laying down exciting rhythms on traditional local drum, the Tifa.
It was at this moment that he dreamt up new moniker GANZ (also known as GANZ GVNZ, IAMGANZ or GANZEE) and began crafting the creations we hear today. This music he makes, inspired by peers like Rustie and Hudson Mohawke, is a melange of beats and bass, R&B smoothness with hip hop rhythms and so far has been released on labels like Terrorhythm Recordings, Bmkltsch Rcrds, Saturate! Records and HW&W.

The Hifi Club is proud to present: Gorgon City w/ Smalltown Djs, Ivan Rankic & Yung Sioux
Two men, one mission: Gorgon City strut with a salubrious yet sordid sound. Polished, powerful and party-minded, it’s already caught the ears of tastemakers as disparate as Diplo, DJ T and Terry Farley. Heavy hip-swinging rhythms meet butt-shaking bass, their sweet, sassy metropolitan mayhem celebrates the very best aspects of the mid-tempo melting pot that makes girls wriggle and boys giggle from San Antonio to San Francisco.
Inspired by the endless groove possibilities when house, garage and bass music go toe-to-toe, Gorgon City’s distinctive sound is a logical development of the duo’s individual work as Foamo and RackNRuin. Both respected and renowned for their electrifying bottom-end workouts, it’s a platform for the North London producers to fuse the deeper, sexier sounds they’ve been excited by for years but not yet had the opportunity to explore.
You can thank their strict diet of jungle, house, grime, hip-hop and garage while growing up. You can thank the many messy sessions they’ve spent DJing on the White Isle. You can thank the fluidity the pair vibe with when together in the studio. Either way, this exciting new project is the sum of their many influences, inspirations and ideas; and right now they’ve only just scratched the surface.
The Hifi Club is proud to present: Jesse Rose

The Hifi Club is proud to present: Walshy Fire
Highly renowned and respected throughout the Caribbean music universe as a double-threat MC and selector for Miami’s Grammy winning Black Chiney Sound System, Walshy is the master of ceremonies for genre-bending dancehall carnival, Major Lazer, touring alongside Diplo &The Jillionaire. Originally from Jamaica, Walshy had the #1 show in Miami radio for ten years running.
As an MC he toured for 8 years with the trailblazing Black Chiney sound system cited as a significant influence on the evolution of Major Lazer with its “mash ups” that blended hip hop or R&B rhythms with reggae artist vocal tracks. Mix tapes that Black Chiney sound developed were the trainingground for Walshy to become a sought-after remix producer and advocate for some of music’s lesser known artists, giving them a platform to be introduced to a wider audience.
He’s released dozens of innovative mix compilations, remixes of songs and single-artist mixes for artists like Chronixx whose Walshy Fire Presents: Start A Fire mix has surpassed 1 million plays. Since 2012 Walshy has toured with Major Lazer performing on some of the world’s most prestigious stages and contributing on the production of the most recent two Major Lazer albums: FREE THE UNIVERSE and PEACE IS THE MISSION. Maintaining a vigorous schedule as a solo DJ when not on tour or in production with Major Lazer, Walshy originated the concept “Future Dancehall” with its roots in Jamaica’s sound system culture and the touchstone for the Walshy Fire Presents record label.
When it comes down to all the hype, his name says it all. He is Worthy. With an in-depth knowledge of production, mixing, and performance, Worthy has the insight to play for his audience, cultivating intense positive energy on the dance floor. From salty aired islands to dark club basements, over the past 10 years, Worthy has paid reverence to the traditional form of classic house while tripping off the mark and sinking into the euphoric less-charted territories of booty-clapping bass. As Carl Cox said, "The Worthy sound has always been powerful, rocking, funky, bass-driven music at its best, and for me this is the new wave in house music." He establishes an energetic dance floor camaraderie that makes even the most skeptic hater’s booty shake.
The Hifi Club & Smalltown Djs are proud to present: My People feat: Ardalan, Smalltown Djs & Sacha Robotti
My People is a place for friends to gather and enjoy good company while appreciating the best new sounds.
We're excited to welcome Ardalan from San Francisco's Dirtybird Crew.
Range, appeal and a massive dose of nasty, gritty bass are the three chief weapons every Dirtybird artist has in his quiver, but Ardalan seems to be the peak culmination of all those assets in one wieldy point. This young archer has had the incomprehensible luck to fall into crew with his idols, be reared by their best and given some of their most guarded musical secrets, then hoisted to a platform to blare his prodigious beats from places where most creators can only dream of being.
Born in Tehran, Iran, Ardalan Noghre-Kar possesses a peculiar, fresh perspective on music genesis without even trying. His mixes, remixes and dubs are known for their sass, energy and wickedly wry samples that snap like a wet towel to the face, but his original tracks are where his efforts shine, like those released with Justin Martin-“Mr. Spock,” a 2010 party anthem charted by Diplo and Jesse Rose, and “Lezgo,” charted by Dog Blood (Skrillex and Boyz Noise)-and those soon-to-be-released on his own EP with Dirtybird. It's no wonder he's been given the nod by everyone from Papa Dirtybird himself (Claude Von Stroke) and A-Trak to those who are charting his remixes, like Maya Jane Coles, Audiojack, and Riva Starr, the last of whom he has an upcoming remix for to be released on Snatch.
The greatest strength in Ardy's music is his ability to whip out hits that work equally well from the dankest basements to the most opulent dancefloors; sounds that satisfy those with diverse tastes who can unite under his single agenda of having a good time.
Always pushing new boundaries, always traveling through time and space, The Clap is on a mission to change the world one dance floor at a time. Dr. Funkenstein has taught us well: free your mind, and your ass will follow.
The Hifi Club & Wax Romeo's Celevrate are proud to present: King Britt
This is a late show. Doors are at 11 PM.
What King Britt has done in the past could be considered very important.
His musical curiosity has paved the way for the artist he is now. From composing house tunes for the legendary Strictly Rhythm and Nervous Records, djing for Sector 6 Grammy Award winning comrades Digable Planets, starting the legendary Ovum Recordings with techno wunderkind, Josh Wink, being tapped to underscore Michael Mannʼs Miami Vice and various commercials, to curating a full day at MoMA PS1 in New York, the list goes on and on.
He feels we put too much importance on the past and not the present. Presently, he is exploring many afro-sonic musical possibilities with his Hyperdub released, Fhloston Paradigm project, The Phoenix. His aural experiments with friends appear on his imprint, The Buddy System Project and Drip subscription exclusives. His recent curatorial pursuits have placed him in many academic environments (he is a Pew Fellowship winner), bridging the worlds of club, experimental and black music.
This way of thinking has resonated with like minded individuals globally, creating a powerful following and well respected fan base.
Kingʼs creativity is at a point where process meets end result. It's the journey and not the destination. No limitations.
Come join the ride
ALLAN RAYMAN ONLINE
There is little known about Allan Rayman, a young, cryptic performer hailing from Lost Springs. What you need to know is that he is a consummate storyteller. Through his compelling narrative, Allan writes his tale of love, which to him is the same as death. The compelling thing about Allan is that you never know what’s going to happen next. His sound and visual aesthetics are a product of his emotional struggle. With every release, Allan presents a new chapter of his story for the audience to experience. At the end of it all, you can’t help but start to feel a little bit worried about him. In his simplest form, Allan is a musician. For him, it’s all about love and music.
Monster Energy & Hifi Club are proud to present: A-Trak
At a time when the DJ sits firmly at the center of popular culture, A-Trak stands out as MVP, the key participant who holds together all facets of the craft. Very few share his mastery of turntablism while also sitting at the forefront of musical innovation, looking keenly to the future with history tucked in his back pocket. A true connector, Trizzy hops effortlessly from colossal festival stages to sold-out concert venues and sweaty underground clubs, building links between hip hop and electronic music while watching genre barriers crumble.
After spending years as Kanye West’s tour DJ and consigliere, he founded the celebrated record label Fool’s Gold in 2007 and developed the careers of artists such as Kid Cudi, Danny Brown and Flosstradamus. With its string of releases and parties, Fool’s Gold broke down bygone rules of the record industry, paving the way for a new wave of independents and helping to make North American electro a dominating force. As a Grammy-nominated producer, A-Trak’s seminal mix of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Heads Will Roll” marked an entire generation’s introduction to dance music. Duck Sauce, his irreverent collaboration with Armand Van Helden, flipped the bird to chart-topping formulas and reached #1 in 12 countries with the ubiquitous “Barbra Streisand”, electronic music’s first true viral music video. A-Trak easily segues from working with EDM’s elite to revitalizing rap superheroes, launching Federal Reserve with Cam’ron and Low Pros with Lex Luger. He casually picked up 3 VMA nominations along the way.
Not bad for a kid from Montreal who was once known as a 90’s turntable prodigy. As a teenager, he brought home every DJ title known to man, starting with the 1997 DMC World Championships and holding a record-breaking 5 titles by the time he was 18. Meanwhile, as his older brother Dave morphed into the lead-singing lothario in the acclaimed electro-pop sensation Chromeo, Alain grew from a nerdy teen who created an elaborate scratch notation system to a bona fide style icon and one of the most recognizable figures in the DJ scene. He recently appeared in campaigns for Adidas, Grey Goose and Cadillac and graced the covers of Billboard and Complex. Based in New York for close to 10 years now, A-Trak’s interest in the lifestyle of his generation has certainly made its mark. As one of the first blogging DJs, he now regularly contributes to the Huffington Post and owns the travel website Infinite Legroom.
The Hifi Club & Hai Karate are proud to present: Wave Racer
Twenty-three-year-old Tom Purcell is Wave Racer, a 64-bit freak speeding through the horizon, straight for the unknown. Taking both Australia and the world by storm, Purcell’s blend of pixelated funk zooms and enhances on trans-continental club sounds and gold plated production standards and blows them straight out of the water.
Signed by Australian tastemaker record label Future Classic following his debut ‘Rock U Tonight’, Purcell doubled down with the release of ‘Streamers’ in early 2014, fast becoming one of the most rotated artists on Australia’s Triple J and a regular fixture on international stations BBC1 andKCRW.
Backing his personal productions, Wavey has given his glistening aquatic remix treatment to a cascade of tracks before re-releasing them into the wild. Cosmo’s Midnight, Ryan Hemsworth, Flight Facilities, Dcup and Panama are only the start of a long list of artists Purcell has rubbed exactly the right way.
Wave Racer’s sound is often (and best) described as driving down Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road to the club of your dreams. Melding vocal samples, synthesised trumpets and bass guitar slaps with his sunrise-styled melodies, Purcell gained early attention from the likes of Diplo, Flume, Snakehips, Madeon, and Skrillex.

The Hifi Club is proud to present: Waze & Odyssey
Having the ability to channel the past into the present day while remaining contemporary and relevant is no mean feat. To then take one of RnB’s most seminal songs and turn it into a modern-day classic is quite possibly even more of an outstanding achievement. Waze & Odyssey have not only managed to tick both of those accomplishments off their bucket list, but they have also notched up a seriously impressive list of accolades in the short time they’ve been together. All the while they continue to press on with their unerring campaign to keep making house music of the highest calibre, traveling the globe performing dynamic DJ sets and generally being one of the most exciting acts to emerge from the electronic music world for quite some time.

Frank n Dank
Dispensing rhymes obsessed with girls and late-night adventures, Frank Bush and Derrick "Dank" Harvey, known collectively as Frank-n-Dank, were hustling on the streets of Detroit's east side before mentor and revered producer Jay Dee (aka Dilla) channeled their talents into music.
Growing up together in Detroit's Conant Gardens area, the three were friends since the mid-'80s and even had a preliminary rap group where Dilla was the MC, Frank the DJ, and Dank the breakdancer.
